Baked Granny Smith Apples with Rosemary Honey and Toasted Walnuts
Here is how you can make this delicious take on dessert using our Cedar Braai Board...
  • 2 granny Smith apples, cored
  • 1 bunch fresh Rosemary
  • 250ml honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ pkt toasted walnuts

  1. Soak maple plank in water overnight or for at least an hour.
  2. Place braai planks on an open flame for 1-2 minutes on the side you will be arranging and braaing your dish.
  3. Combine 50ml honey and cinnamon, mix and rub over and inside apples.
  4. Char apples on an open flame, then arrange on cedar plank.
  5. Place remaining honey in a pot, bash rosemary with a rolling pin to bruise the leaves. Place in honey and simmer gently for 30 minutes to infuse. Cool, then strain.
  6. Arrange apples, drizzle with honey and place a kettle lid over the planks. Braai for  20-30 minutes or until cooked through.
  7. Serve with extra honey, chopped walnuts and ice-cream, whipped cream or honey.
